Giallo translated to English means yellow and is a reference to the cheap yellow paperback horror-thriller books that were sold in Italy during the mid 20th century. You could even call them Italian "pulp fiction" paperbacks. Giallo has also become a term used to describe the specific Italian subgenre murder mystery thriller films that became popular in the late 60s-70s. Decades later, thanks to home video, they found a whole new audience with film geeks all over the world. We've created this additional German guide for European giallo fans that will point you to many of the terrific titles now available on Region 2 DVD and BluRay. To purchase them from Amazon.DE, simply click the covers or provided links, and click BUY. Thank you for supporting the GCDb!
