The Selwyn theater was located at 229 West 42nd Street in NYC. It was opened in 1918 as a playhouse and in 1934 it was converted into a movie theater. The film distribution company Aquarius Releasing was also located above the theater for a period in the 1970s and 80s. The Selwyn was closed in 1997 then later renamed the American Airlines Theater and reopened in 2000.
