The Adonis theater had two locations, both on 8th Avenue. The first Adonis opened in 1975 housed in the former Tivoli theater and after being closed in 1990 it was relocated to the former Cameo theater (formerly the Ideal) south from 50th on 8th Ave, close to 43rd St. The Adonis' second incarnation was also renamed the 'Playpen'. The theater was demolished in 2007.
