  • Released in 2006
  • Region 1
  • 88 min
  • STUDIO: Media Blasters
  • PICTURE: 2.35:1 Anamorphic NTSC
  • SOUND: Japanese Dolby Digital 2.0 (192 kbps)
  • SUBTITLES: English Subtitles
  • SPECIAL FEATURES: Photo Gallery | Theatrical Trailer (3:12) | Bonus Trailers
  • DVD COMMENTS: The R1 Media Blasters is slightly problematic. The film is meant to look very muted but maybe not quite as muted as this. Adjusting contrast and brightness will however lead to a moderately pleasing image, although it’s impossible to say exactly how the film is supposed look like. Otherwise the disc is much like their Beast Stable dvd. Interlaced transfer, good audio, and original trailer (no teaser included), picture gallery and bonus trailers as extras. The cover art is nothing like the original poster, but is thankfully very stylish. The Japanese dvd by Toei probably features the same transfer. It is also likely that the German dvd uses the same master, although it's probably a NTSC to PAL conversion. - HungFist

  • Released in 2007
  • Region 2
  • 88 min
  • STUDIO: Pathe / Asian Star
  • PICTURE: 2.35:1 Anamorphic PAL
  • SOUND: Japanese Dolby Digital 2.0 (192 kbps)
  • SUBTITLES: French Subtitles
  • SPECIAL FEATURES: Photo Gallery | Meiko Kaji and Yasuhare Hasebe Filmographies | Theatrical Trailer
  • DVD COMMENTS: This Pathe dvd (found only in the La Femme Scorpion Box Set) is a total disaster. The picture is horribly boosted. While it makes some of the dark scenes look cleaner much of the detail is lost. The negative effect is twice as strong in bright scenes, and for example skyline often shows zero detail. Colours are also lost in the bright scenes. As if the picture wasn't bad enough, the audio is also notably worse than on the R1 dvd. Even if you buy the box set I recommed getting a separate release of this speciffic film. - HungFist
