Overview

Del Tenney (born 1930, Mason City, Iowa) is an American film director/producer. After moving to California at the age of 12, Tenney attended LA City College where he developed an interest in acting. He got many parts in plays and followed that up with some small roles in films like Stalag 17 and The Wild One. Tenney then moved to New York, where he had several different jobs including working in a restaraunt and as a detective. He then decided to try his hand at film directing. He co-wrote and co-directed (without credit) Violent Midnight, a thriller set in Connecticut starring Shepperd Strudwick, Jean Hale, Sylvia Miles and Margot Hartman (Mrs. Tenney). Tenney next made the zombie movie I Eat Your Skin. His biggest success came when he brought the low budget classics The Horror of Party Beach and (his favorite) The Curse of the Living Corpse to the big screen. Both films did very well at the box office.
