Andy Warhol (August 6, 1928-February 22, 1987) was an American artist, director, producer and cinematographer known as one of the foremost figures in the Pop Art movement in the 1960s. He started with many nonlinear experimental films before moving into films with actual acting and plots, beginning with 1968's Flesh.
