- The character names Flovilla, Eufaula, and Lavonia were all inspired by places in Atlanta. The name Lamar was inspired by comedian Jonathan Winters.
- This would be the last of Russ Meyer's theatrical feature films. He made one more film, a video feature, 22 years later in 2001.
