From The Grindhouse Cinema Database

< The Vulture
  • It was filmed in color, but only shown theatrically in black and white; it was eventually broadcast on television in its original color.
  • Mentioned in Kurt Loder's article "Night Creatures" in the August 1984 Rolling Stone, about the grindhouse scene in New York City, featuring observations from Michael Weldon, Bill Francis and Herschell Gordon Lewis.

"To come across Weldon's review of something like The Vulture - a 1966 Paramount misfire that featured not only a killer vulture with the head of Akim Tamiroff, but also Broderick Crawford playing an English squire - is to suddenly realize how sedate one's life has been."

  • This was the final film of veteran director Lawrence Huntington.
