There's a legend going on about a mysterious young, blonde gal who dwells deep within the Okefenokee swamp. A local Swamp Ranger (Ferlin Husky) eventually comes face to face with the "Swamp Girl" (Simone Griffith) when she releases him from a bear trap. A rapport between the two seems to start to grow and the ranger offers Swamp Girl, who's real name is Janeen, a trip to the outside world. But those plans are spoiled when an escaped female-convict (Along with her jail-busting boyfriend) runs into Janeen's home and forces her to lead the two out of the swamp.

Prior to that, we get backstory on Janeen's origins which involved newborn babies being sold into white slavery markets or elsewhere. Come to find out, Janeen was spared by Nat (Lonnie Bower) a black assistant to a doctor who delivered the babies in the swamp. Nat ended up raising Janeen in the swamp once the doctor was killed in a robbery and saved Janeen from being sold. Janeen never knew anyone else in her life growing up, so she always thought Nat was her "Pa". Needless to say, by the time the movie ends, you'll get to witness one of the most dysfunctional family reunions ever seen.

Despite a few memorable lines which occur in the end, there really isn't a whole lot to recommend on giving this one a look. But since it only clocks in at 78 minutes, you could say it gets it's job done as a good ol' swamp fairytale.
