Poster Review

Superfly. Its one of the all time best pimpin' subgenre films. Back when it was released in 1972 it actually knocked The Godfather out of the #1 spot at the box office. How can a Grindhouse film be #1 at the box office? Well, its NEVER been about box office numbers, its always been about the underdogs making great films regardless of how much of a budget they had. This one certainly proves that not all Grindhouse films are worthless pieces of trash. The poster art is pure flash, the huge car with those sexy headlight ornaments! Youngblood's pimp threads are shown in their full glory. We can't forget the brilliant score by Curtis Mayfield. The GCDb gives this one a gold coke straw.
