  • The hotel in the film is an actual Biltmore hotel in Florida that was shut down for a two year period and abandoned at the time of filming and the director paid $250 to rent the building for the shoot. The hotel was renovated a couple of years after the shoot and now charges significantly more than $250 per room, per night.
  • There are actually eight actors playing eight different zombies in the film, although it appears that there are many more.
  • Headlining stars John Carradine and Peter Cushing each worked four days and earned $5,000 each.
  • The film was shot in 35 days in 1975.
  • The original negative mysteriously disappeared over 20 years ago. The print used for the Blue-Underground DVD is from director Ken Wiederhorn's personal collection.
