Trivia

"Jess Franco utilized footage from three decades of filming to craft a unique story that pays homage to the morbid poetry of Edgar Allan Poe, while indulging the director’s personal obsessions." - KinoCult on Neurosis. There are three versions of this film, the first, The Fall of the House of Usher, was Franco's original cut, but it never played after its premiere and is now lost. The second added some reshoots and was called The Crimes of Usher. The third retells the story in a more Frankensteinian manner, is called Neurosis or Revenge in the House of Usher and recycles footage from his Dr. Orloff film for the black and white flashbacks and is the furthest removed from the story of its source material.
