  • Slashdance. What a great title. Riding on the success of the popular Flashdance, Fulci creates a little exploitation dance movie that lacks big names and does not even boast any kind of splatter effects, violence or even much nudity. Were it not for the - at least to me - annoying 80s music and the uninspired script, Slashdance would be a really great little crime flick. Camera and lighting are really great, the streets of New York at night look especially great. I watched this with zero expectations and was pleasantly surprised actually. It doesn't offer much in terms of suspense or scary effects, but it has a nice athmosphere. Worth checking out, but nothing out of the ordinary. As I said, the best thing is probably the cinematography. --Seb
