  • The film was released on a Friday the 13th
  • Out of all the films in the series this one has the most nudity
  • Peter Barton, who played Doug in the film, was hesitant when it came time to do his death scene because he was previously burned on a magnesium flare doing a stunt on another movie and required multiple surgeries afterwords. • When they shot the scene where Samantha (Judie Aronson) is in a raft on the lake, it was in the dead of winter. It got so cold that Judie started crying, Jason actor Ted White got fed up and told director Joseph Zito that he would quit if they didn't let her come out and warm up. They did.
  • Uncredited Jason actor Ted White has said to genre interviewers and authors throughout the years that he took his name off because "If I don't want my name associated on a total piece of shit, then I don't have to have it on there". Though he later pretty much regretted making that statement, saying "It was better made then most of its type, and the viewers got more bang for their buck", this makes him the 2nd big principal Friday the 13th series cast member, after original star Betsy Palmer, (Mrs. Voorhees from the original) to call their respective film a "piece of shit".
