- DVD COMMENTS: The Media Blasters dvd uses the same transfer as the Japanese Toei dvd, although the bitrate is lower. I don’t recall any notable compression artifacts, though. The interlaced transfer is pretty good and natural. Audio features no problems, and the extras are what you'd expect from a film like this. The dvd is also available in a 3 disc box set with Female Prisoner Scorpion: Beast Stable (3rd film) and Female Prisoner Scorpion: Grudge Song (4th film). - HungFist

- DVD COMMENTS: HK Video’s presentation for the film is rather poor. It’s a progressive transfer and encoded with a high bitrate, but that’s where the good things end. The image is darkish, has a notable blue tint, and skin tones often look either pale or slightly pink. This is the worst presentation I have seen for the film, although being remastered this is not a total disaster either. Subtitles are in French and forced, but not burnt it. Extras are basic stuff, but the animated menus are some of the most impressive I have seen. This dvd is only available in the Coffret Femmes Fatales double pack, with Zero Woman: Red Handcuffs. Both discs come in their individual digipacks. A very nice booklet is included. - HungFist

- DVD COMMENTS: Pathe’s dvd has some problems. First of all the running time suggest the transfer has been converted from a NTSC source. It is interlaced and features lots of ghosting, but myself I didn’t notice any flickering (which is usually visible on conversion dvds). I’m not an expert on this, though. Otherwise it seems that the source material is the same as on the R1 and R2J dvds, but this transfer is slighty darker and contrast boosted. It loses some detail in both dark and bright shots. But ultimately this is a rather good looking transfer, and many casual viewers won’t see a huge difference compared to the R1 dvd. Audio is clean. French subtitles are offered, and they are optional. The picture gallery is very good and quaranteed to please the fans of the film. This dvd is only available in Pathe’s 6 Disc La Femme Scorpion Box Set (with all other Female Prisoner Scorpion films). - HungFist
