Rolling Thunder Pictures was launched in July of 1995 by Miramax as a specialty home video label to be headed by the Academy Award winning writer/director Quentin Tarantino. The company was named after one of QT's favorite films, the 1977 Revengeamatic Rolling Thunder directed by John Flynn. Sadly, the company was not around long and closed its doors after only releasing its first round of titles as well as a book What it Is, What It Was! The Black Film Explosion of the 70s.
