Female Prisoner Scorpion: Beast Stable/DVD
Female Prisoner Scorpion: Beast Stable/DVD
From The Deuce
US DVD
- PICTURE: 2.35:1 Anamorphic NTSC
- SOUND: Japanese Dolby Digital 2.0 (192 kbps)
- SUBTITLES: English Subtitles
- SPECIAL FEATURES: Photo Gallery | Teaser Trailer (1:44) | Theatrical Trailer (3:06) | Bonus Trailers
- DVD COMMENTS: It’s unclear whether the Media Blasters dvd is a direct port of the Toei dvd or not. The source print is almost certainly the same but MB may or may not have done some further tweaking for the image. What we have here is a nice, slightly digital looking interlaced transfer. The colours look good and there’s no problems with edge enhancement. The extras offer a picture gallery, original trailer, original teaser and bonus trailers. The good looking cover art is very similiar to the original theatrical poster, minus the text and the edges. - HungFist

French Pathe Box Set
- STUDIO: Pathe / Asian Star
- PICTURE: 2.35:1 Anamorphic PAL
- SOUND: Japanese Dolby Digital 2.0 (192 kbps)
- SUBTITLES: French Subtitles
- SPECIAL FEATURES: Photo Gallery | Meiko Kaji and Shunya Ito Filmographies | Theatrical Trailer
- DVD COMMENTS: This dvd, which is only found in the La Femme Scorpion Box Set, looks quite similar to its R1 counterpart, although it’s a bit softer. The interlaced transfer also originates from a NTSC source. The sound quality is notably worse than on the R1. On the positive side the photo gallery features once again some excellent production stills that should please the fans. Teaser trailer from the R1 is not included. - HungFist
